The true nature of the Palestinian Authority
The True Nature of the Palestinian Authority
Job one for any government is to act in the best interest of its population. For Palestinians living in the West Bank, the Palestinian Authority is doing just the opposite.
I write this article not to demonize the Palestinian people, most of whom just want to live in peace and provide for their families, but to expose the true nature of their leaders. They have cultivated a culture of death and despair while stealing the very money intended to help their own people.
The Palestinian Authority was founded in 1994 as a result of the Oslo Accords. The Oslo Accords were a pair of agreements between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) attempting to resolve the long standing issue of creating a homeland for the Palestinian people. Although the Palestinians had rejected every peace offer since 1917, to date, this would have been the best opportunity to finally settle the issue of a two state solution.
The Oslo Accords called for the removal of Israeli forces from most Palestinian cities and some 440 villages before elections were to be held. The purpose of the Palestinian Authority (P.A.) was to give the Palestinian people an interim self governing body for the Gaza Strip and the West Bank for 5 years until a peace agreement was finalized.
In 1996 elections were held and the political/military organization known as Fatah won the elections. The word Fatah should have been a foreshadow of things to come.
Fatah is Arabic and means “to conquer”. The organizations flag has a grenade and two rifles superimposed on a map of Israel. It took no time for this governing body intended for peace to quickly devolve into terrorist actions against Israel.
In 2006 Fatah loses Palestinian Legislative Council elections to Hamas, a terrorist organization that openly calls for the destruction of Israel. Along with losing the elections the PA also lost control of the Gaza Strip. This would be the start of a game of one upmanship between the two factions aimed at destroying Israel and gaining control of the Palestinian people.
What was intended to be an interim government until peace was made with Israel, has become a cancer, not only for Israel but for the Palestinian people. The P.A. has had every opportunity to create a state for themselves along side Israel but it refuses to. This is not their goal.
In 2017 the Palestinian Authority’s own records show they paid out, from foreign aid given them, over 355 million dollars in what the West calls a “pay to slay” program.
According to Jerusalem Dateline, payments were made to over 30,000 people. Kill a Jew, whether it be a soldier, an old man or women, or even children and you or your family will receive monthly payments. If you die in this act, these payments will be made in perpetuity to your family. If you receive a sentence of 3-5 years in prison for an act of terrorism, the P.A. will pay $583 per month. A 20-35 year sentence will earn you $2,915 per month. This is big money for someone living in the West Bank. There are also bonuses;
$87 more per month for a married terrorist.
Terrorist with children get an extra $14.50 per child per month.
An Arab terrorist from Jerusalem gets an extra $87 per month.
An Arab Israeli terrorist will get a bonus of $145 per month.
For a people who have become impoverished with a sense of hopelessness by their own government, this is quite an incentive program in order to provide for your family.
In addition to these payments the Palestinian government names public squares, summer camps, math contests, and even a women’s soccer team after these terrorists.
An incredible example of this disgusting behavior is Palestinians naming a school after one of the terrorist that killed innocent Israeli athletes in the 1972 Munich Olympics!
Palestinian schools, television shows, and school books teach children not only that they must kill Jews but also how to do it. The brain washing in Palestinian culture is pervasive. These “partners in peace” have never given up their original goal, eliminating the Jewish state. Embezzling from their own people is just passive income until they achieve their goals.
In response to these actions the U.S. congress passed a bill called the Taylor Force act, named for an American victim of Palestinian terror. It halts all U.S. aid to the P.A. until it stops this promotion of terrorism and murder. The U.S. has also cut more than half of the $125,000,000 it gives annually to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
UNRWA was created in 1948 as an agency dedicated to serving only one group of refugees, the Palestinians. It was originally intended to provide jobs on public works projects but has devolved into a tool of the Palestinian government. It perpetuates refugee status in 68 camps in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank and Gaza.
Critics of UNRWA say Palestinian refugees should not still exist after several decades and should have been absorbed into Arab societies just as Israel has absorbed its refugees expelled from every Arab country. What was once a total of about 700,000 Arab refugees has swelled to over 5 million. The reason being is the Arab and United Nations (U.N.) definition of a refugee includes descendants of refugees. This means that every descendant of the original refugees will also be considered refugees, generation after generation until a peace deal is made. They also demand that these people be resettled in Israel as part of any peace deal that creates a Palestinian state. The second Israel accepts this condition they will be minorities in their own country.
Although UNRWA now offers health care, schools and other social services, it is used by the Palestinian Authority and PLO to help spread hatred of Jews through these programs UNRWA hosts. It has allowed Hamas to fire missiles from their school courtyards into Israel knowing Israel would have to strike back at these civilian buildings to stop the launches.
The Palestinian people deserve better leaders. Billions of dollars have poured into the P.A. that should have built a peaceful, prosperous society. Instead, Palestinians have to seek employment in Israel in order to make ends meet if they choose not to be paid terrorist.
Their former leader, Yasser Arafat, was said to have had a net worth of over a billion dollars at his death. Their current president, Mahmood Abbas, was elected to lead the PLO in 2004 to a 4-year term but has refused to leave office since his term ended. A former Security Minister claimed that Abbas has stolen hundreds of millions of dollars in the last decade. He purchased a private jet for 50 million dollars and built a 13 million dollar palace for himself while many of his own people are in refugee camps or living in poverty. You can rest assured that Abbas is not the only one in the P.A. at the feeding trough of foreign aid meant for the Palestinian people.
The Palestinian Authority is now even abdicating their responsibility to govern their own territory. In fear of Hamas, the P.A. have pulled their security forces out of cities such as Jenin, resulting in skyrocketing Arab on Arab crime.
Both Jews and Arabs, side by side, began bringing Palestine back to life from utter desolation at the same time in the beginning of the 20th century. Jewish society today is one of the most modern and prosperous in not only the Middle East but the world.
The Palestinian people need a complete governmental make over. A government whose hatred for Jews is not stronger than a desire to raise their people up and move them into the 21st century. That hatred of Jews have left Palestinian society in shambles.
If Israel is successful in destroying Hamas in Gaza, there is a real chance the Saudi’s will come to the aid of the Palestinians and give them a fresh start for a better future. When the dust settles and negotiations continue between Saudi Arabia, Israel and America, one of the proposals in the three way talks will be Palestinian reconstruction in both Gaza and the West Bank.
The Saudi’s, and much of the rest of the Arab world, have come to grips with Israel as a state and have a much bigger problem on their plate, the Iranians. Continuing to use the Palestinian people in order to further their cause of exterminating the Jews and claiming all the land for themselves is quickly coming to an end for the Palestinian leadership. Even the Arabs have grown tired of Palestinian rejectionism and hatred of the Jews.
100 years of turning down one peace offer after another has finally exposed the true nature of Palestinian leadership and its current face, the Palestinian Authority. Killing the Jews and freeing Palestine from the river to the sea is just not going to happen. Oslo may have been their best chance for peace to date but lets hope that when the war in Gaza is over, the P.A. doesn’t do what they’re best known for, never missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity!
