The Four Horses of the Apocalypse
The Four Horses of the Apocalypse
It’s the spring of 2024 and I’m witnessing a mass psychosis of mostly rich white students of Ivy League schools and other institutions of “higher learning” protest a conflict most of them have no idea of the complexity or nuances of. They seem to think they’ve reached a new level of enlightenment that only they are privy to.
They call for the freedom of Palestine, chant “from the river to the sea” and some even call themselves “Hamas”.
Many have the best of intentions and feel they are a part of a virtuous endeavor that has come up with a solution to a conflict that has plagued the world for over a century. What they don’t understand is that they are being played by much darker forces that actually want the destruction of Israel and all the Jews that go with it.
In addition to all the protests of the month, we endure school shootings, carjackings, looting, shoplifting and murders that have become all too common today. Does anything surprise us anymore?
How did we get here?
Regardless of ones religious denomination, political affiliation or social status, almost everyone agrees that the world has been turned upside down.
What was once right is now wrong and what was wrong is now right.
The secularist will say it’s social injustice, oppression, racism, immigration, Republicans, Democrats, the destruction of the family, socialism or economic injustice. These are indeed aspects to the moral decline and chaos of our world today but there’s one element the secularist are missing, spirituality.
Dostoevsky once stated “If God is dead, everything is permitted.”
When this country was founded as a Judeo-Christian nation, we all agreed upon certain social norms. Whether you believed in God or not, you at least agreed on a structure of ethics and morality. Now that this country has mostly cleansed itself of this tradition, everything is indeed permitted.
We are all gods now with our own truths, genders, morals and ethics.
If you’re a believer you know exactly what’s at play here.
It states in Ephesians 2:2-3:
2. Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3. Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
Secularist refuse to even entertain that there is something much greater at work here than the multitude of reasons I listed above. However, there is a spirit at work in the world today that emanates from that “prince of the power of the air”, Satan. In fact, there are also four other spirits at work.
We are told in Ephesians 6:12, “ For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
This brings us to the four main spirits at work in the world today, The Four Horses of the Apocalypse.
The prophet John wrote of these influences in the book of Revelation but we’ll start in the book of Zechariah where we are told what these symbols are, Zechariah 6:1-7:
1. And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass.
2. In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses;
3. And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses.
4. Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?
5. And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.
6. The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country; and the white go forth after them; and the grisled go forth toward the south country.
7. And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth.
Here in Zechariah they are represented by chariots being pulled by these horses and that the horses are four spirits.
In Zechariah 12:3-4 we see that these horses/spirits have a part in these end times with the reference to Jerusalem and all the problems this city and its inhabitants are enduring in the world this very day:
3. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
4. In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.
This brings us to the book of Revelation. The prophet John tells us what spheres of influence these four horses/spirits work through. I think the late minister Irv Baxter had the best read on these horses and was one of the only ministers I’ve come across to have interpreted these symbols correctly.
John states in Revelation 6:2, “And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.”
The word “bow” here is the Greek word toxon, inferring a cheap imitation or of the simplest fabric. The color white represents Christianity thus together with the “bow” imply a false Christianity.
The early church was more of an army than it was a church. Europe and much of the world were involved in one religious war after another killing millions and ultimately ushering in the Dark Ages. This is not what Jesus intended for the church.
Much of the church today has lost its way and embraces every latest fad in order to enlarge itself and in many cases make more money. Doctrine is far less important than being “all inclusive”. Jesus stated in Luke 12:51-53:
51. Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
52. For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
53. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
These verses may shock some but the point is doctrine divides. You either follow God’s doctrine or you will be separated like chaff. It’s this false iteration of “the church” that will eventually be led by the Anti-Christ.
The next horse is in Revelation 6:4, “And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.”
The red horse represents socialism or communism. Red is the color of socialism and is responsible for more death and starvation than any human system since the beginning of the 20th century.
The competing human system to socialism is the black horse or capitalism as we read in Revelation 6:5-6:
5. And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
Ever wonder where we get the term Black Friday from for seasonal sales? How about the term Black Thursday or Black Tuesday from when the stock market collapsed in 1929 and Black Monday for the collapse in 1987? Black represents capitalism.
Notice in these verses that the rider of the black horse has scales for buying and selling. A measure of wheat for a penny is an example of inflation because a penny would have been an entire days wage for the ingredients of a loaf of bread. We all know the role oil plays in the economy today and wine is symbolic of the elite who make sure their needs are not hurt during inflation.
The next horse or spirit is that of the pale or green horse in Revelation 6:8:
8. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
The word “pale” in this verse is the Greek word “chloros” where we get our word “chlorophyll” and is translated “green” everywhere else in The New Testament.
The green horse represents Islam of which green, and the sword, are their symbols. Mohammed and his forces spread this religion by the sword as soon as it was rejected by his fellow Arabs. In many parts of the world Islam has continued to this day to kill infidels by cutting their heads off. Remember Daniel Pearl?
According to the Population Reference Bureau, “By 2030, the worlds total Muslim population is expected to increase by 35 percent over its 2010 level, to 2.2 billion people. In total, Muslims will make up about 26 percent of the worlds population…” This will be one-fourth of the Earth. Exactly as it’s stated in verse eight.
These four horses, False Christianity, Islam, Socialism and Capitalism are the four spirits competing for global dominance at this very moment. None of these human created systems are what God intended for us. These Satanically inspired spirits are at the core of the death spiral this planet is in. Contrary to secular humanist, there is no amount of legislation, enlightenment or word salads that are going to cure the ills these four systems have wrecked upon the earth.
If you think the world has lost it’s mind, you’re right, but it’s going to get worse.
The goal of the Four Horses, or spirits, is to create as much chaos, death, fear, political and economic instability as they can. So much so that it states in Luke 21:26, “Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.”
Humans will reach such a breaking point with the state of the planet that they will plead for someone, anyone, to solve these problems and bring back stability, peace and prosperity.
This is the moment Satan has been waiting for and he has just the guy, the Antichrist.
The Antichrist will give the temporary illusion of peace and prosperity when he comes as stated in Daniel 11:24, “He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.” This spreading out of the spoils is a socialist system that will appear to present social and economic equity throughout the world but it’s all for the purpose of global control.
The world will be so thankful for the restoration of peace and prosperity that it won’t even see the coming destruction as stated in I Thessalonians 5:2-11:
2. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10. Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
There is comfort in these verses. It’s God, not Ivy League schools or the government that solves the worlds problems, only God. Stay strong and fight the good fight.
