Who are the Kenites?

The Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance defines the word Kenite as being from the Hebrew word qayin, meaning “the name of the first child, also of a place in Palestine, and of the Oriental tribe:-Cain, Kenite(-s).” The Kenites are the descendants of Eve’s first child Cain.

Why is it important to know who the Kenites are? Because the Bible feels it’s important. God makes the effort to document these people from the first book of the Bible, Genesis, all the way to the last book, Revelation.

As I documented in my article “What Really Happened in the Garden of Eden”, Cain was the child of Satan and Eve. He was not Adam’s son and no where in the Bible does it state that he is. On the contrary, there are ample scriptures to back the claim that Cain was Satan’s son.

The Kenites, are the beginning of the Satanic bloodline that hides behind the real bloodline of Adam through his son Seth. They will eventually blend into the tribes of the Benjaminite’s, the Levites and the tribe of Judah shortly before the Babylonian captivity. They will also infiltrate the priesthood during the captivity and return from Babylon forever to be known as Jews even though they are not.

They will have a direct impact on the life of Jesus and an adverse affect on the Jewish people throughout history by constantly providing fodder for the perpetual cancer that is antisemitism.

Their early family tree is outlined in Genesis 4:17-22:

17. And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

18. And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech.

19. And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.

20. And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle.

21. And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.

22. And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.

Three traits of the Kenites are presented here. They were a nomadic people initially, they were early creators of music and of metal works.

Their story in the Bible doesn’t pick up again until after Noah’s flood. The fact that the Kenites, who are not of the bloodline of Noah, are still on the earth after the flood is just one piece of evidence that Noah’s flood was not world wide as I documented in my article “Noah’s Flood”.

By the time of Abraham, there was yet another influx of fallen angels in the land of Canaan. The goal of Satan this time was to destroy the forthcoming Israelite nation militarily and spiritually by filling the land with the enemies of  Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. This is pointed out in Genesis 15:18-21:

18. In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

19. The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,

20. And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,

21. And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.

By this time, other than the Kenites, all of the other tribes listed above had giants, known as the Nephilim, mixed in with them. The Rephaims however, were a tribe solely made up of giants.

As the Israelite nation grew during their stay and ultimate enslavement in Egypt, the nomadic Kenites formed a symbiotic relationship with the nomadic Midianites. They encamped next to each other and engaged in trade with one another.

The reason I bring this relationship up between the Kenites and the Midianites is important because there is a traditional misunderstanding of scripture that Moses’ wife and father in law were Kenites. This is false and the scriptures will bear this out.

When Moses fled Egypt before he led the exodus of the Israelites, he went to the land of Midian and took a wife named Zipporah. Her father is called Jethro but that’s actually an appellative or title meaning “his excellence”. His real name was Reuel or Raguel. We see the start of this relationship in Exodus 3:1, “Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.”

In order to be a Midianite priest as it states here, you would have to be a pure blood Midianite which were descendants of Abraham and his wife Keturah, who were definitely not Kenites.

The misunderstanding comes from two verses in the Bible. The first one is Judges 1:16, “And the children of the Kenite, Moses' father in law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lieth in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.”

The second is Judges 4:11, “Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.”

As I stated before, there was a symbiotic relationship between the Midianites and the Kenites and they intermingled. Jethro, his daughter Zipporah, Heber and Hobab were all called Kenites because they lived among them. It would be similar to calling a German living in Texas a Texan. Notice in Judges 4:11 that Heber “severed” himself from the Kenites. You can sever yourself from a group geographically but you can’t “severe” yourself from your race. Midianites, especially priests such as Jethro, can not by definition be a Kenite.

As the Kenites grew as a nation, they began to split up into separate factions as seen in I Chronicles 2:55, “And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.”

The Kenites that were descendants of Rechab maintained a distinct, nomadic lifestyle for some time. Others however began to build cities on the southern border of Judah as seen in I Samuel 27:10, “And Achish said, Whither have ye made a road to day? And David said, Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerahmeelites, and against the south of the Kenites.”

We see their cities in I Samuel 30:26-29 where it is made clear that they are the enemies of God:

26. And when David came to Ziklag, he sent of the spoil unto the elders of Judah, even to his friends, saying, Behold a present for you of the spoil of the enemies of the LORD;

27. To them which were in Bethel, and to them which were in south Ramoth, and to them which were in Jattir,

28. And to them which were in Aroer, and to them which were in Siphmoth, and to them which were in Eshtemoa,

29. And to them which were in Rachal, and to them which were in the cities of the Jerahmeelites, and to them which were in the cities of the Kenites,

The northern 10 tribes of Israel were captured by the Assyrian empire in 721 B.C. leaving just the kingdom of Judah. The kingdom of Judah was made up of the tribes of Benjamin, Judah and the priests of the tribe of Levi. This is the composition of the people we call Jews today.

However, in 586 B.C. Nebuchadnezzar sent the mighty empire of Babylon to destroy the kingdom of Judah, Solomon’s Temple and to carry away a significant portion of the population.

Fearing they may be destroyed in the crossfire of the battling armies, the Kenites of southern Judah including the nomadic branch of the Rechabites, decide to move into Jerusalem in the hopes of blending in and sparing their lives. We read of this in Jeremiah 35:8-11:

8. Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;

9. Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:

10. But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.

11. But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.

It's at this time that the Kenites blend into the tribe of Judah and will forever be counted among the Jews. We see this in Jeremiah 11:9, “And the LORD said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.” We’ll see confirmation of this when we get to the book of Revelation.

During the time of King David, the Levitical priesthood was given permission to use subcontractors for their daily menial tasks. They were called Nethinims, not to be confused with Nephilim. Not only were they non Israelites, they were considered bastards by the Israelites.

In an article written by Joseph Jacobs of The Jewish Encyclopedia it states, “In Talmudic times the Nethinim were put on a level with bastards, and their descendants, male and female, were interdicted from marriage with Israelites for all time…” He goes on to state that, “This union of sacred service and social ostracism has led to the suggestion that the Nethinim were the descendants of the Ḳedeshot, or sacred prostitutes…”

The idea that the Nethinim were bastards of the temple prostitutes is interesting considering that the first bastard of the Bible was Cain.

In order to be an Israelite priest, you had to be from the tribe of Levi which the Kenites most certainly were not. Their only way to infiltrate the priesthood then was by going through the back door which were the Nethinims.

During the Babylonian captivity, the Nethinims had worked their way all the way into the priesthood even becoming scribes.

Upon returning from captivity, Ezra and Nehemiah began the task of rebuilding Jerusalem and Solomon’s Temple. However, they were dismayed at the state of the Jewish people in general and of the priesthood in particular. The word “astonied” in verse three means astonished which is exactly what Ezra was in Ezra 9:1-3:

1. Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.

2. For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass.

3. And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonied.

Not only had the Jewish people been polluted by marrying outside of the bloodline, but the priesthood and the Nethinims could not prove their ties to the Jewish people either as seen in Ezra 2:58-59:

58. All the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon's servants, were three hundred ninety and two.

59. And these were they which went up from Telmelah, Telharsa, Cherub, Addan, and Immer: but they could not shew their father's house, and their seed, whether they were of Israel:

An attempt was made to cleanse the priesthood from the people claiming to be Jewish in Ezra 2:61-62:.

61. And of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai; which took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name:

62. These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.

This attempt to purge the priesthood, unbeknownst to the Jews, failed as will be pointed out by Jesus in The New Testament.

The Jewish people and the Nethinims will both return from captivity and re-establish themselves in Jerusalem as seen in Ezra 7:6-7:

6. This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.

7. And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, unto Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.

It was because of the approaching Babylonians that the Kenites infiltrated the Jewish people but it was through the Nethinims that they made great headway into the priesthood.

The Kenites were already skilled at being scribes as pointed out in I Chronicles 2:55, “And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hemath…”

This skill will serve them well as they work their way up the priesthood in the coming centuries.

During the time of Jesus, the kingdom of Judah had become a province of the Roman empire. While Rome ruled the area, the day to day governing of the Jews is left to the Sanhedrin, a legislative and judicial assembly having religious, political and civil functions. They were made up of two major parties, the Sadducees and the Pharisees.

The Jews may have not have known who was among them but Jesus definitely did and He points it out in Matthew 23:29-35:

29. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,

30. And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

31. Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.

32. Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.

33. Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

34. Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

35. That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

There are several things to examine in these verses. He’s calling the scribes and Pharisees names associated with Satan such as serpents and vipers. The word “generation” in verse 33 is Strong’s Concordance #1081 meaning offspring. These are the offspring of the serpent or viper, Satan. They are indeed Kenites noting also that the blood of Abel who was killed by Cain will be upon them.

It was the Romans who would crucify Jesus but it was only at the adamant behest of the Pharisees.

Speaking to the scribes and Pharisees again in John 8:38-45 He will make it crystal clear that they are the children of Satan, the Kenites, that had infiltrated the priesthood during the Babylonian captivity:

38. I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

39. They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

40. But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

41. Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

42. Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

43. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

44. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

45. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

Jesus would try to explain this to His disciples, twice, so they too would be aware of the Kenites. First in Matthew 13:24-30:

24. Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

25. But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

26. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

27. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

28. He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

29. But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

30. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Tares are known as zewan. To the untrained eye they look just like wheat except the zewan grain is bitter and poisonous. When fully grown, wheat is golden but the tares will show their true color of black. It’s at the time of harvest that the two can be identified and separated. The metaphor here, Kenites look just like Jews but are not and Jesus will separate and destroy them at His return and harvest.

Don’t worry if you don’t completely understand the Bible sometimes. Even the disciples had their moments and so Jesus makes the parable easier for them to understand in Matthew 13:36-40:

36. Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

37. He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

38. The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

39. The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

40. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

These tares are the Kenites. You can’t get any clearer than “the children of the wicked one” and “the devil” mixed in among the Jews.

Jesus points this out again in the book of Revelation where He talks about seven different churches. Most theologians believe these refer to seven different church ages but I think by pointing out the teachings of the Kenites that they are seven different types of church teachings. He only finds two of them acceptable, the church of Smyrna and the church of Philadelphia.

In Revelation 2:8-9 He states:

8. And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

9. I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

In Revelation 3:7-9 He states:

7. And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

8. I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

9. Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

The “key of David” refers to understanding and differentiating the bloodlines of the Bible. The Bible takes great pains documenting who begat who until Jesus is born. By that time the bloodlines are no longer important because the Adamic bloodline has survived every attack by Satan and produces salvation incarnate for the world, Jesus. This is why after the birth of Jesus, the Bible no longer keeps track of bloodlines.

Throughout the Bible scripture is given about the Kenites ultimate fate. One is Psalm 21:8-11:

8. Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.

9. Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

10. Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.

11. For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.

Another is in Psalm 37:28, “For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.”

Notice the word “seed” in both of these scriptures making sure you know who God is talking about.

Isaiah 14:12 is addressed to Satan, “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!” It continues in verses 20 and 21 focusing on his children the Kenites:

20. Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.

21. Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.

Kenites are likely not aware of their internal wiring and conscious of their origins, but are inspired by the spirit of Satan much like Christians are motivated by the Holy Spirit. Their nefarious motivations and actions are laid at the feet of the true Jewish people perpetuating the historical antisemitism that Jews have endured.

The Jews have been blamed for every mishap in human history from the Black Plague to today’s conspiracies of owning the banking system, controlling Hollywood, controlling the media, controlling our government and having a secret cabal to rule the world.

Someone once said there aren’t enough Jews nor can they possibly possess this much energy to be responsible for all of these conspiracies. If they actually had all of this control they would never have suffered the incalculable amount of attacks they’ve gone through from the Assyrians to the Nazi’s to the tidal wave of antisemitism we see today.

There’s not a Kenite around every corner and Jews are not perfect but we must recognize that “A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah…”
